I’ve noticed over the decades that the subject of polygamy comes and goes in cycles.
It’s back in the spotlight again with the Secrets of Polygamy show. Typically I get invited to participate in these shows either as an featured expert or behind the scenes assisting producers in best approaches to the subject, and help them with knowing which questions to ask those who are featured in appearances.
Several years ago I stopped sharing my polygamy story on stage and camera while I took care of some personal and family business. Interestingly enough, I started dusting of the stories of growing up in polygamy a few months ago and started teaching it again in my stage presentations as I focusing on teaching fearlessness, self-confidence and courage.
This In particular the story of my dad promising me to a friend of his when I was eleven years old and my struggle with suicide.
I started writing my memoirs into a book about 25 years ago. It was titled The Polygamist’s Daughter until another author took the title. I’ve found a better title more aligned with the story’s purpose with a better and compelling story. The novel, based on my story is still a work in progress because other books take the forefront. I pulled the manuscript back out a few months ago and started working on it again.
It’s not just another book about polygamy but a compelling story worthy of the movie it will someday become.
I’ve known for decades that my story will become a feature film, worthy of movie theaters. for this reason I’ve been very, very particular about the content and working with the best story and script writers to bring out the best and most compelling story. I want to make sure your get a story that wows and inspires you.
I’m also working on a travel show and a documentary film as I step into the role of filmmaker which has always been my greatest passion.
